Does anyone know if Korea has any good animation? I've seen plenty of Japanese animation (mostly made by Manga), but I am curious if Korea has anything like that, or movies like ghost in the shell, or Akira?

I hung out with the animation supervisor of King of the Hill in Itaewon a couple times. That...has some Asian characters.

The only Korean cartoon I can think of is Nudl Nude.

Korea had a beautifully animated movie called "Wonderful Days".

Check out the trailer here:

Interesting note, most Japanese Anime (TV, Movies, etc...) are animated by Korean artists. Mainly because Korean artists are cheaper than Japanese ones. However, recently the trend has been shifting to Chinese artists because it is cheaper there.

If you see the credits to Japanese Anime TV shows, you'll see a long list of Korean or Chinese names.

Avatar: The Last Airbender was animated in Korea if I remember right.

I don't know enough Korean to attempt to watch a Korean animated show without subtitles though...

Wow, Wonderful days and The Last Airbender both look like amazing animations! Thanks for the recommendations, I could never understand why we can't do such cool movies like that in the U.S. Whenever an animation comes out, they are always geared towards kids with incredibly stupid narratives! Like finding nemo or one of the other hundreds of stupid films that Disney comes up with.

Where else can I go to search for other Korean based animation?
