Hi,

I've been at my hagwon for a few months now, solely teaching advanced students about the TOEFL test. Quite frankly it is boring me to tears! The students are already excellent and don't need to be there anymore, but I guess the parents just push them into it even though it's a complete waste of time.

Now I've decided that I'm going to spend less time on actual TOEFL style questions during the 70 minute classes, and want to introduce some discussion that might actually help their English, as opposed to repetitive drills which are mind-numbingly boring.

Can anybody recommend any good websites for warmers/debates/discussion based activities?

Most of my students are great, but I can tell they are getting bored (and so am I)...

Thanks! Very Happy

I know how you feel here are a couple sites that might help.

efl classroom has a lot of ready made lesson plans. great for discussions and activities for all levels.

http://eflclassroom.com/

Breaking news english has news articles, with a bunch of activities for the kids to do after reading.

Good luck! I'll be watching this thread for more ideas.

You're there to help them beat the TOEFL. Don't waste their time and money on conversation practice; just think of interesting ways of presenting test material.
