|
|
Hi,
I'm moving to Korea in Sept. and I read that I can swap my driver's license form my home country for a Korean one. So there are two things I wondered about:
1) Does anyone know how long that takes after arrival? I need to rent a car a week after I come and I don't have an international drivers permit.
2) I have a Canadian driver's license, but I'm actually not Canadian (not even PR) - I swapped my original German one for the Canadian one when I arrived in Canada 4 years ago (they don't return the original, to avoid "driver's license tourism"). So strictly speaking it's not the license from my "home" country. Has anyone experience with this?
Thanks a lot!

Save yourself the grief, find a CAA office and get an International Driving Permit issued for Korea before you leave:
http://www.caa.ca/travel/travel-permits-e.cfm
You get to keep your current license. |
