I know there's no way of knowing this...but what has everyone's international flight experience been like? Should I expect a packed plane? Looking at local flights there's typically only one flight a day non stop to Korea out of NYC...so if you use that theory, you'd think it'd be full...but then again...how many people fly to Korea everyday...so what do you think? Packed plane? Empty plane? Dumb question, but I'm not a huge fan of flying and want to know what to expect...

There are at least a half dozen airlines that fly from the US to Korea every day - there's no requirement that you have to fly non-stop unless you really want to.

As an example, I flew Singapore Airlines from San Francisco to Incheon on a Wednesday and my flight was about half full - I had a whole row to myself.

My recommendation is to try to fly in the middle of the week - Mondays and Fridays are busiest for obvious reasons.

You could also call the airline and ask them what flights are least full - like I said, the Singapore Airlines flight that leaves from San Fran at around noon every day was half full, lots of room to move around.

Getting to San Fran from NYC is another story, those flights are only about 4 or 5 hours but they're basically guaranteed to be full unless you leave in the evening or at night.

Good luck!

yea...I'm figuring my school is gonna hook me up with a non stop ticket...but who knows...crossing my fingers if I'm gonna sit on a plane for 15 hours it'll be somewhat empty so I can maybe stretch out...longest flight I've ever been on was NYC to Vegas which was about 5.5 hours but packed like sardines as expected....we shall see....
