Hello all.
A friend of a friend of a friend... who teaches at an elementary school after school program (under the GEPIK program) has been asked to create a yearly plan. This yearly plan should include detailed lesson plans for every class that will be taught in the next year and it is due by next week.
Has anyone had a similar situation? What have you done. My friend and I would really like to know.
Keep in mind that this is not a program that has a developed cirriculum. Also, there are no text books.
Thanks |

If you teach just one lesson per class per week, then it's surprisingly easy, it's only something like 30 lesson plans. Either just do it, or just write a load of buzzwords on the paperwork, it won't be checked or even matter, I think that stuff is just for the office and accountability. |

Yeah, that's what I'd hoped at first, but they seem to be quite worried about the content.
Also, it's for every class. 15 in a week.
Luckily, they've dropped it down to half the semester. My friend is happy about that but still discouraged. |

I only have to submit the basic topic of each lesson. Not a detailed plan for every class for the whole year! |

So theyr'e asking your friend to develop their curriculum for them. Lazy buggers. They asked me at my last school. I didn't refuse to do it, I just never did it, and never got asked again. |

Your friend makes a different lesson plan for every class? Do they work at a different school every day? |

The classes are never taught more than once. It's not a regular class, it's a GEPIK after school program. Same hours, different classes. |

I believe there is a website for EPIK that has lesson plans for teachers. Cut and paste and make a few changes. If not, Google is your friend.
Good luck. |

My school just asked me to create a plan for the whole year by the end of the day.
They don't even know what students we have yet, so it could be kids anywhere between Grade 1 to 6.
The plan is basic though and apparently just for show so that they can get funding from the board of education. I don't need to stick with it apparently. A waste of time, really, but Koreans like to waste time. |

The is exactly what they expect us to do... except in detail. It's such an annoying waste of time. Ah well, thanks for the responses and the encouragement. I'll get to work on it... one day at a time. |

Any idea if it's an official EPIK website, or "approved" by EPIK? A link would be great. Thanks. |

Step 1.
Look down at your desk
Step 2.
Draw a quick intake of breath.
Step 3.
Suck teeth as if reflecting on something or as if you just found a tasty morsel on them.
Step 4.
Mutter "Aigo" under your breath but loud enough to be heard.
Step 5.
Look up and say "I think it is not possible."
Repeat steps as often as required. |
