createasaurus. I'm new here, and new to Seoul (Yeonhee-dong). ... just started the KLI program at Yonsei this semester.
I have a few questions to start:
1) Is it fairly easy to tutor part time on the side? If so, what's the best way to market yourself? Flyers around the neighborhood? What's the going hourly rate?
2) How much do recruiters typically make on each hire?
3) Is Sogang really that much better than Yonsei because it concentrates on speaking? |

Well to answer your first question, it's easy to do but I think it's illegal. I only ever did one but gave up because they kept changing times. And it was only 30,000won each time and it really ruined my Saturdays.
I've heard that many Koreans go to Kyobo book store and hang out in the foreign books section looking for foreigners who teach privates, but never done it myself. |

Should I repost each question in the appropriate topic forum instead of all in one? |

Privates are illegal for those on an e-2, but not a student visa. I think you're OK. |

I have an F2, would that make it legal or would it still be illegal? |

I think technically illegal to earn over a certain amount a month, but so technical as never to arouse the ire of Immigration. |

On an F4 immigration won't touch you, so don't fear deportation. Keep it down in the sense the tax man and MOE might wake up and wonder what you're up to. But someone would have to stick a pair of chopsticks up these guys' arses and tickle their tonsils to get them to chase you down. |

Don't go around telling people you are doing privates, that's what I mean. |
