When I am on the worknplay or Dave's ESL Cafe websites looking for potential jobs, all I see is "teacher needed ASAP" "teacher needed ASAP" "teacher needed ASAP" "teacher needed ASAP".

Based off of seeing this, I have to think it can't be too entirely difficult to find a job and am not worried at all that I don't have a new job already lined up with 2 1/2 months left on my current contract. Am I correct for thinking this?

From what I am seeing, these schools are not even yet considering that far into the future.

Koreans don't think very far into the future. The well-organized schools hire further into the future than the ones that are not well-organized.

If you're looking at schools in the Gangnam area, I'd suggest taking a look at GDA Junior Seocho campus. It's about a 10-minute walk from Gangnam Station. They have openings from time to time throughout the year and will most likely have several openings in July. They often hire well in advance too. I can say from personal experience that they honour every aspect of their contract, though there are minor day-to-day frustrations that you would probably find at any hogwan.

The schools in the Gangnam area will likely be pickier than those elsewhere in Seoul and especially in the rest of Korea, since it is a highly desirable area and the moms have high expectations and lots of cash.

Even trying to apply for a job 6 weeks in advance, all I get in response is "if we still have an opening in 6 weeks you can apply" because they want someone NOW.

Asians are in such a hurry they can't even pause to cook their fish.
