A friend just told me that all Korean actresses and actors need to be available to the government for sex. Apparently they sign in their contracts that they must do everything their agency tells them to.

She even told me about a Korean actor or singer who went to North Korea to 'visit' KJI.

I call pure and total bullshit. What do you think?

Yes, you are feeding us a line of b.s. and such TROLLISH conduct deserves a temp ban imo or at least a warning.

Just a couple of weeks ago you started the Just lost my job. Where should I live?

Now you're just sounding bitter.

Mods, delete this thread.

Yikes. I really never understood the idea of trolling.

For the record I found a new job and am awaiting my new visa to start working.

I'm not BSing anyone, I'm just asking about what my friend said.

Let's be friends.

Not sure about those superstars such as Hyori or Rain

But to those obscure actresses(actors?), sex has been used as a tool to boost their career very often, either willingly or unwillingly.

The latest case would be the actress who killed herself days ago, she left a diary in which she said she was beaten by her agents very often, and forced to drink and sleep with others.

Everyone? No, that isn't what happened. He accused you of trollish behavior yesterday or today.

Wow, an actual answer from the lovely Panda. Thanks. I wasn't sure what to believe.

Anyone have a link I can check out about the actress? What a sad story.

Thanks Ya-ta Boy.

I have 7000+ posts in which I don't call anybody a troll and about 20 or 30 where I do, and surprisingly few the last couple of years: michaelambling sure fits the bill as a repeat offender.

the op of this thread just loses his job, is angry and suddenly has an "innocent" inquiry which casts quite a wide aspersion on Korean entertainers in general.

I am ALL FOR *beep* and complaining about Koreans openly and honestly where one experiences it. But this kind of slander backed only by what a nameless friend said reeks of trollishness in my experience.

*exits thread*

Wow. I am not angry. Actually my situation now is much better, and I have a bunch of time off to enjoy myself.

Anyway captain knowitall has fancifully *exited thread* so I guess we don't have to worry about him anymore.

Jang Ja Yeon just committed suicide for this very reason.

I also heard that Lee Young Ae went to NK to satisfy some penisless bastard's desires.

There is some truth to the OP's post.

Okay, now that we normal people are left...

Korea has a lot to do to become a first-world nation. Sadly, it is a country run by perverted and self-absorbed men. What these men ask and demand of women in the workplace shocks me. I know a girl who works for an art dealership, and the stories she's told me of what girls have to do to get jobs in galleries, museums, etc. So I'm sure for something more glamorous and desirable as the entertainment industry, there are tons of casting couches and similar setups, just like there was in America 50 years ago. I doubt the KJI visit, but I'm sure South Korean politicians can have their pick of a number of eager and desperate young girls.

It's not just the Koreans--how many Russian girls are in this country as "models"?

It makes me angry and it makes me sad, but it also makes me feel confident that the problems we suffer from our employers is nowhere near as severe as what many Koreans go through. But it does make me look at this country's sex industry with a mixture of fascination and pity.

Is it really that different anywhere else? Actors and moderately talented females sleeping with older, powerful men for a job? Competition is fierce here.
