Will it look weird that I'm bring at least 3 2TB hard drives, 6 250gb hard drives, 50 2gb flash drives through customs? Do I have to declare this stuff? Will they search my drives?
On my hard drives, I have thousands of songs, videos, e-books, hundreds of software programs, etc...etc...
The flash drives are from my old job and all empty, but I figure those would be nice prizes or gifts to students, friends, co-workers. |

They don't care, won't search and there is nothing to declare. |

Umm....
I am not customs expert, but 50 flash drives might raise a few eyebrows. Thoughts of resale....
I would leave them at home. They are as cheap as socks now; just buy them here.
As for the HDDs: they are yours, so they won't care.
IMO: Nobody wants those little drives anymore. I have a bowl full of them; they are given away like gum at every function one attends; church, presentations, conferences... |

That quantity of flash drives is too much. They'll definitely think you're selling them. When I came through I had 1 carry on that was just electronics:
couple electronics dictionaries, skype phone with base station, mini router, wii, controllers, external HD, 1 flash drive, 2 digital cameras, psp, laptop, they just asked me to open it, they wiped that thing inside to make sure it wasn't a bomb and that was that. |

Really? No one wants them anymore? I love them. I have a bunch of 2 gig ones. But if they give away 4 gig drives or larger at church I think I'll become a christian. |

The call comes in many ways.
I have 4 2GB and 2 1GB drives that I got form my church, as gifts for attending certain functions and simply as holiday handouts.
I guess it isn't fair to say nobody wants them, but with 8, 12 or 16GB flash drives becoming the norm (and getting downright cheap), 1 or 2GB drives seem needless. |

I say bring them and just tell the truth if you get questioned. I would not think you would have to declare them. As the value is relatively low. I think they could be considered a nice gesture or gift to someone. |

I just came in and had a bunch of HDs in my carry-on suitcase. They didn't even ask me to open the bag up after the xray. I was pretty surprised.
On the Korea side, they never check me. EVER. |

I was checked ONCE coming into Korea on my first day here!
The reason was because I wandered around like an idiot and asked if I had to go through customs or not (didn't have a lot of international flight experience back then). |
