I live in Seoul and I want to go and see some gorgeous cherry blossoms when they bloom. I've done some reading and looks like Jinhae is not worth going. Also, it is pretty far from Seoul.

I don't want to go to Yeouido in Seoul because the crowds there make it hard to enjoy the scenery. I would like to go on a Sat. afternoon and then come back on Sunday.

Any suggestions?

Go east, young man. Apparently the mountains in Gangwondo are the best place in the whole country to see the cherry blossoms, and this area is spread out enough that I've never had to deal with crowds while I was hiking or walking around the islands.

hey i heard there is a blossom festival on wonmi mountain(like a big hill) here in Bucheon. Not sure when though, probably around the same time. Smaller crowds I am assuming.

Suanbo (수안보) is a small, spa/resort town near Chungju. Their Cherry Blossom Festival is sometime this month. It doesn't get too crowded, ever.

A group of about 15 of us are going down to Jinhae from Seoul this weekend. Even if it's not overly exciting it'll be good to get out of the city for a couple of days.

We rented a private bus since it's about the same price as taking a public one (there are so many of us). There's room for 5 more though, if anyone is interested in hopping on board to see the blossoms PM me. Leaving early Sat. morning and coming back sometime on Sunday. about 60,000 won each for the bus (return).
