I know they are all here now, but this iPhone at the airport was listening away to his Korean. I knew it was a Korean cuz he couldn't stop eating kim chi and asking this chick on the other side of him (I was sitting on the one side) if she was Russian.
Now I am 99% sure that you can only use a Korean where KT has global roaming partners, and I know several guys who spend 50/50 time here and the States for business, and spoke to one of these guys just last week and he said he couldn't use his Korean here at all to drink soju, eat bulgogi, or spit on the ground.
So the iPhone douchebag was either pretending to listen to his Korean, or they just made the Koreans roam-capable in the last week.
Anyone have insight? I've been googling "iPhone + South Korea" daily, as I want to get one as soon as they release it. Last I heard the Pipi thing ends next month, and after that they (any smartKorean) can be imported here. |

Really? This must mean his "usual posts" have set a ridiculously low standard. |

Victorology you are correct.
The person who posted the initial "I saw a Korean using an iphone" thread and those who contributed to it deserve to be laughed at.
Was he pretending to talk into it just to impress some girl?....you can not use and iphone in Korea....you can use an iphone in Korea....I'm wetting myself about being able to use my iphone in Korea...etc etc |

It`s not about the bling factor or getting girls with a phone. It`s about being able to use my own phone from back home here. I wrote about using my foreign 3G phone way before the iPhone came out. |

I'm not sure if you're being abrasive on purpose or not...
But the iPhone 3G does roam here. I roamed with it for about a month when I first got here. Cost me a LOT.
I have my 3G unlocked and am just waiting for a carrier to 'allow' me to use my phone on their network. I've tried SIM cards from my friends' phones and I get the same message every time... that the network is restricted. |
