Was given notice on February 3rd that my last day would be March 31st. They were following the contract that stated I should get 60 days. While it wasn't 60, I accepted it since I would be getting 2 extra days pay on top of my base salary because March has 22 working days.
I had been teaching 3 OT classes every MWF which is why I signed on (coupled with the over 120 classes clause). Well they changed that starting this month so I would only be teaching 6 classes instead of 7 on MWF. But these were supposed to be automatic OT. I even let them off the hook with pension and health (with a plan later to collect my pension by going to the pension office - but they'd be none the wiser). So they're trying to get a way with as much as possible. I was aproached with this by a Korean English teacher because my boss wasn't in today. At first the salary that was mentioned was 200,000 less than my base pay with the possibility of adding the OT classes. Nice. Trying to make it look sweeter like I can't add 2 and 2.

This type of individual is the guy who gets hired by anyone who needs a warm body. He gets a job, and suddenly the employer realizes that life would be better without him there. He then fires the guy.
Yim not realizing why he keeps getting fired immediately places the blame on everyone except himself. He goes from job to job lasting no longer than 8 weeks before being fired (sometimes it happens in less than 3) and then starts looking for a new job and will get picked up by anyone who does not know better.
If this happened to him once, I'd say ok, perhaps it is the employer. But this is at least the FIFTH time in less than 6 months he's been fired. There is a clear pattern here, and it's not the employer, it is clearly him.
Now Yim seems to come up with these simplistic reasons, nonsensical logic and excuses for him being canned again and again. To be honest, I can really see why he is here. But I'm crossing my fingers in the hopes that some half intelligent immigration official sees his history and just refuses him further work visa's. I think that would be a great day for us all since this asshat actually pretends to be one of us (an expat in Korea) when in reality he is very much more like a Charlatan who is in my opinion simply unemployable unless you can give him a brush and point to a bathroom. Then again, I don't think he can even do a proper job in that area either.

That's not true. I don't know what he's going on about. I've never come on here and whined or made excuses about anything and he's being quite slanderous. He doesn't know my situation and no one on here really knows any details.
I think there should be an ignore button option on Dave's or something.
Anyway, everyone is getting somewhat off-topic. Whatever that matters. |

Sincere question. You say you let them off the hook with pension and health by which I assume that they are not paying into pension, correct?
If that is so, you can not collect pension as nothing will be there. And they would be wise to that fact when the pension officer calls them and asks "what's up...why doesn't this guy have any money?" And YOU would be obliged to pay retroactively as well. |

I don't understand how you can move from one job to another so quickly?
Don't you need CRCs and transcripts, and all that jazz? Or you're able to transfer your visa with letter of releases?
Really, I don't understand, but it seems like the OP is doing something right. Who wants to stick around at the same place with the same students all the time? |

Sincere question. You say you let them off the hook with pension and health by which I assume that they are not paying into pension, correct?

Of course I would have to fork over my share, but I'd get it back later. |
