WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance.

But the proposal would be "dead on arrival" if it's sent to Congress, Sen. Patty Murray, D-Washington, said.

The optics on this are simply awful. I realize that it hasn't been formally proposed yet, but still. Whoever came up with it should have been unequivocally told to shut the hell up, and informed that any further suggestions of similar calibre would result in his immediate termination.

Thank God the Congressional Democrats have more brains than whoever is staffing the White House.

You didn't have to say it. Everyone knows Obama's an idiot. Those who voted for him know it best of all, but they're not about to admit it. They'd lose face. Hey, wait a minute:

Democrats = Koreans

Go figure.

Obviously the guy who suggested that plan isn't a veteran. No concept of actually giving something for your nation. What an unbelievable a$$hole.

Haven't they slowly been doing away with veterans rights/privileges for a number of years (10+) already? In my area at least they've been pushing veterans out of the VA hospitals and telling them to go to a general hospital for services they used to receive at the VA hospital.

This White House is showing signs of incompetence, which didn't really seep into the Bush presidency until his second term, although Rumsfeld was clearly incompetent.

And still no help for Geitner over at the Treasury Department, which even Paul Volcker recently criticized publicly.

They're too busy with semantic games like what to call enemy combatants, apparently.

Wonder when Globama will begin to wear it. Count on White liberal females to be the last to shed it. They practically cream their pants over the guy whenever they meet him face to face. Almost as bad as Pelosi with Pitt.

Shocked

The Bush administration was incompetent from Day 1.

But yes, Geitner's first fifty days have been quite disappointing.

Edit: Just found this article, which seems appropriate.

Polls show that most people like Obama, but they increasingly don't like his policies. The vast spending hikes and plans for more are provoking the most concern, with 82% telling a Gallup survey they are worried about the deficit and 69% worried about the rapid growth of government under Obama. Most expect their own taxes will go up as a result, despite the President's promises to the contrary.

None other than Warren Buffet, an Obama supporter, has called the administration's message on the economy "muddled." Even China says it is worried about its investments in American Treasury bonds. Ouch.

Much of the blame falls on Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, whose appalling tax problems softened the ground under him before he took office.

I'm 56% certain that the vet Dem pol is Chris Dodd (D-Conn).

My god now this is a dumb move both politcally and practically..is anyone thinking?

Now, even if this doesnt pass, come the 2012 election the GOP Candidate will be able to look back and say to military personnel/vets
"Obama wanted you to pay for your own care of service connected disabailities" and itll hit big time.
