|

I've been studying Korean for almost a year now, but I can still hardly understand anything when people speak to me.
I've already got a few decent books for learning the basics of the language, but have any of you found any goods books that have helped you specifically with conversation? |

Maybe your studying from some pedantic book or once a week.....I've been at it a month and can understand some conversations and pick up bits and pieces...
Also, don't study in Isolation....perferably next to a korean(like a co-teacher)...they'll iron out all the rough edges and help you out....also, get some korean friends or a language exchange....I'm surrounded by korean 24/7 so I'm always picking up little bits and pieces. |

| Study by yourself, then ask a Korean coteacher if what you studied is right and if the pronunciation is correct. But mostly, others get in my way. I study mostly vocabulary words and the occasional phrase. In time, as I know more vocabulary, it will all fall into place. You can't go wrong with a good picture dictionary with English and Korean sided by side. |

| I've just bought "Korean Made Easy for Everyday Life" - it seems pretty good. |
