I've been studying Korean for almost a year now, but I can still hardly understand anything when people speak to me.
I've already got a few decent books for learning the basics of the language, but have any of you found any goods books that have helped you specifically with conversation?

Maybe your studying from some pedantic book or once a week.....I've been at it a month and can understand some conversations and pick up bits and pieces...

Also, don't study in Isolation....perferably next to a korean(like a co-teacher)...they'll iron out all the rough edges and help you out....also, get some korean friends or a language exchange....I'm surrounded by korean 24/7 so I'm always picking up little bits and pieces.

Study by yourself, then ask a Korean coteacher if what you studied is right and if the pronunciation is correct. But mostly, others get in my way. I study mostly vocabulary words and the occasional phrase. In time, as I know more vocabulary, it will all fall into place. You can't go wrong with a good picture dictionary with English and Korean sided by side.

I've just bought "Korean Made Easy for Everyday Life" - it seems pretty good.
