Yeah, me too--is it just me or has the price of these mini cars gone up in the past couple years? |

My buddy's got a 96 sonata 2 as well he's unloading for about 500 bucks. It's clean and runs well but they it's a guzzler even at 1.800cc (he works on base so he gets cheap gas). |

96 Elantra. Great car; I have done a lot of work on it myself. It ain't pretty...a few dents, but it is mechanically solid. I used it for highway commutes to Maseok for a few years. The previous owner was the original owner...honestly...an old lady. Doesn't burn oil, reasonable on gas. Can't recall the mileage...I will check.
Anyhow...good car, 400,000. |

Update:
Ok...the car is an automatic and the mileage reads 217 937.
Picture here:

The interior is in great shape..it's the body that has some dings. No major accidents at all, just cosmetic 'adjustments'. I have replaced the alternator and starter, but I have no documentation as I did it myself. Oil changes every 3 months and at the turn of seasons. Cleaned the throttle body semi-annually to the keep mileage reasonable and used "Bull's One" once annually before winter.
The front tires are new and it is registered.
The ugly: The passenger side window ascends slowly...I don't know why and didn't care...I always drove the car alone. Right now, it is dirty as heck outside. I have it cleaned twice a year, and that time hasn't yet come. It is the same as in the picture as that was taken not long before it was parked. I haven't driven the car in over a year...I just run it monthly to keep things in check. The battery is a couple of years old..it was replaced.
It has an MP3 CD player audio in it right now, but my wife wants that swapped out, along with the speakers. I dropped a good chunk of money on a Sony player and rear 6x9s...this will certainty add value to the car if left in. I have the original stereo and will be happy to swap these. If left, I need to add at least 150,000 (+/- needs to be discussed with my wife)...they cost 500,000 new.
Ok...thanks for all the interest. It can be seen on Saturdays or in the evenings during the week. PM me.
A few updates:
Power steering/brakes/locks. All in good order. No rust. Plum colored exterior, black/grey interior. It has AC, recently had the freon changed. Very cold. Front fog lights...one is broken. Again, I never really needed them, so I didn't care to replace it. |

Any junkyard will give you 150-200k for it and there's no documentation hassle (just have the car registration and your ID card ready) and they'll even pick it up. Beats wasting your time trying to sell it to broke ass haggy jockeys. |
