sorry if this has been answered before but the search engine is unbelievably slow.
What forms are needed to file the tax exemption? Am i exempt from paying income taxes in the US as well as Korea if i work at public school (GEPIK)? |

| Yes... You are tax exempt for the first 2 years if you are American. You are exempt in the US if you earn less than (around) $80,000 a year. I didn't have to fill out any forms for the Korean tax exemption, nor did any other of my American PS teacher friends. You may be asked to submit a form (check the website for that info), but you may be able to explain that it has not been necessary for most American teachers in the past. It'll just depend on your school and how finicky they are about those things.. |
