I'm not offended by the term at all, I'm just curious how long a person has to be in Korea before they are no longer considered a newb. |

the correct spelling is n-o-o-b. it's reminiscent of "boob."
Does that offend ya? |

Time spent in Korea often means little.
I've met teachers who have been here for years and are still clueless about Koreans, Korea, the ESL job scene, teaching etc.... |

You're only a newbie if you feel like one. Why you want other people to judge you who knows. |

Yeah me too. I remember getting drunk with this Irish dude and he wanted to fill up my whiskey flask with soju to drink in the cab on the way home. Good times. |

I've been in Korea for eight years*, am I a noob?
* Since 2001 on and off, so, um, total time of roughly 3 years. |

If you've come here this year or last, then you're a newbie.
If you still talk about how many PC rooms there are, you're a newbie.
If you talk about back home with other foreigners you just meet, you are a newbie.
If you don't know what Dokdo is and who Rain is, then you are a newbie.
If you have never been to Seoul nor Busan nor Jeju, then you are a newbie. |
