My ARC expires on March 31, but my ticket to leave is for April 2. I realize that you need to apply for an extension otherwise you'll be fined at the airport. I was just wondering if anyone knew how much the fine would be and if staying a few days past your visa expiration would affect coming back to Korea?

If you are fined, it would probably be W100,000; and, if you wanted to get an new visa in future, you would have to do an embassy/consulate interview in your home country.

I read somewhere that someone was fined W100,000 for not having her ARC--is the fine really that high if you're just a couple of days over? And I realize that I would have to go through the entire rigamorole if I were to want a new visa. But would having stayed a few days past your visa experiation affect the chances or getting another one? Would it be like a black mark on you or is it okay once you pay the fine?
