Ok, so I know there's a really outside chance of anyone knowing of where I could do this. But, does anyone know of somewhere I could learn Vietnamese in the Seoul area? Ilsan would be excellent. Thanks. Also are there any Vietnamese communities in Seoul? Any AUTHENTIC Vietnamese restaurants? |

You could possibly sign up for classes at Hanguk school of Foreign studies. Google their website. |

Why do you care man. Posts like this are so stupid. Almost as bad as the "Korean is a useless language" posts. (Ironic considering the people who call Korean useless are the people who would benifit the most from learning it.)
Maybe he just wants to learn Vietnamese. I have a friend that learned Slovakian. Is he a dumbass? No he's gawd damn brilliant, he speaks Slovakian (and 4 other languages).
So maybe you're content with being ignorant, but there's no need to "lol" at anyone for wanting learn anything. |

Are you viet?
I'm Vietnamese-American. I also live in Seoul. And I'm fluent.
There are lots of Vietnamese factory workers up in northern Gyeonggi-do. I was pestered by them a lot when I lived in Pocheon. They always wanted free English lessons. There's a big Viet community in Songuri (northern gyeonggi), but that mainly consists of factory workers and mail order brides.
And no, there are no authentic vietnamese restaurants in Korea. Well, I haven't looked too hard so maybe there is. |

He said he is Viet-American, I would think he's a native English speaker.
Now finding a job at a hagwon because he is Asian is another story... |

Optik is right. I am vietnamese-american...therefore I am a native speaker. However, I am not a he but rather a she
I've always worked in the public school system, so my ethnicity has never been an issue. I know a few vietnamese-canadians/australians/etc that work at hogwans as well. I don't know whether it was difficult for them, but it proobbabbly was. |
