Anybody here ever heard of a very nicep dance called 'kizomba'? It's from Angola and is fairly popular and growing rapidly in populariety in Europe. It hasn't made it to the US yet, far as I know, but I'm sure it will. It is done in Brazil.
I do a lot of salsa and bachata now but I've recently had a chance to learn the basics of kizomba and I really like it. You can go to youTube and search for 'kizomba dance' and you'll see what I mean.
The point of this post is that I'm going to be doing a very basic demonstration dance over at my Friday night dance hangout in Hongdae....Bahia Salsa Club. They have a bachata night every Friday night but last Friday they asked me if I could do a kizomba demo for them.
I wasn't ready last Friday but I will be this Friday so I'm planning on taking them up on their offer. This'll be the first time anybody's ever done any kizomba in Korea so I'm pretty excited about it.
I don't have any particular interest in teaching it for profit but I am trying to develop a social group that likes to go out togather and do the dance. To that end, I could teach the basics (of Kizomba) if several of us wanted to learn it. It's not hard at all and it's a very slick dance.
You can respond here but I've also started a social website oriented toward people interested in kizomba. The URL is http://kizombadancer.ning.com . You can go there and sign up to keep track of how this project develops if you want. No cost of obligation of course.
