My school has just issued me an LOR. It is dated today, but states I'll end work on May 13th.

Is a LOR similar to a certificate of employment, in the sense it must be issued on the last day of employment, or will the LOR issued today suffice?

Thanks. The certificate of employment is something which should be asked for on the last day of employment. It's separate to the LOR.

The LOR enables you to change employers. From my own basic research, it seems it doesn't matter about the exact date of issue for the LOR, but I may be wrong.

I was told by my recruiter about a week before my current visa expires, if I'm offered a job, I could visit immigration with a LOR and they would be able to transfer my visa to a new employer and extend my visa for another year, with that new employer.

It would be another GEPIK school. Because my CRC was submitted after the new visa regulations took effect in March 2008, a new CRC is not required because immigration will have a scanned copy of it. I have a new CRC in case this all falls through.

That's my understanding. I hope I'm right. Laughing

If you plan on transferring your visa you will need both but your co teacher can easily get you a certificate of employment from your school anytime between now and your last day.

Thank you. My recruiter sent this, after I told him of my LOR:

It is definitely good news and we will try to make sure that you will have good news from your future employer as well.

Thank you and we will contact you as soon as education board contact us for your application feedback.

Have a nice day.

I feel good. Laughing
