| As one theory goes, Islam is defined by it's followers and not by what is found in it's holy texts and laws. Shahrukh khan is quite popular in India and he's a muslim. His version of Islam seems pretty good. (do a 'dard-e-disco' search on youtube. The song is a big hit here in India.) He's evidently lost the desire to harp on the need for women to be completely covered and from the image he projects, working out seems to be more important than studying the Koran. He also doesn't seem to be too concerned about the terrible judgement of hell awaiting those who don't submit. I'd say his version of Islam can be measured by the extent of his occupation and time spent on the things of this world and not his focus on the rules of the Shariah and the Koran. |
