What are the prices like?
Has anyone been there recently? I'd like to get an idea of what a weekend will cost there. A place to stay is not a problem....just need an idea of rental and lift costs.
Thanks,
Kyle |

Thanks Captain obvious,
Did you manage to take the time to actually look at the site and see if it has the information I requested?
I did before putting up the original posting. I looked through both the english and Korean websites but the info is not available. |

You can find ski rental and lift prices at the Tour2Korea site. |

mate... cmon, why would you waste your time stuffing around here when you can just make a simple call, those places always have somebody that speaks english...
i spent 45 seconds to find that site.. waterbaby probably spent 1 minute...
just to be the smartass i am - i just called for you, they have do have many english speakers there.
ski rental - 24,000
lift tickets - 9,000 - 1 lift - 50,000 - 1 day
did you manage to take the time to even bother calling?
i gave you a website and ya come back and jump on me. |

You comment concerning "45 seconds on a search engine" did not seem like it was intended in a helpful manner.
I used this site and got an answer within two hours....no big deal. I got the info I was looking for.
My impression is that YOU were jumping on MY back. I don't think it was a stupid request at all.....and I did make some effort to find the info on my own before posting here. |

PS. I'm also looking for people that have actually been there. The last resort I went to had similar prices listed but I found there was actually a discount on lift tickets if you rented your gear at some shops off the hill..... |

i could have been more polite but in a round-a-bout way i was only saying with a little effort you can find out easily..
i never said anything about stupid.
'just need an idea of rentals and lift costs' threw me a little.
for future reference.. with big places like that, it generally isn't a waste of time trying the ol phone call first..
i went to muju last weekend and had a blast..
hope you have fun. |

And now, for some USEFUL information.
I've skied Sungwoo 3 times in the last 4 years. It's small, by U.S/Canadian standards, but then so are all the other Korean resorts. You'll want to go straight to the top to avoid all the noobs that jam up the bottom slopes.
There is one long trail (an access road) on the back of the mountain that is loads of fun if not too crowded. You will spend much time on that run. Guaranteed. There are three or four challenging/fun runs, (depending on how much snow has fallen...sometimes one or two will be closed), but nothing that would receive a black diamond rating by N. American standards.
In short. It's good for a day trip to get your ski on, but two days? Maybe too boring. |

which question is relevent to your useful answer? wouldn't it have been better to tell your little story and not stress the word useful. |
