Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows of any mildly interesting (or at least discussible) articles that I could use in my teachers class. They're level is quite low, so easier is better.
Thanks in advance! |

Use the Special English service from Voice of America. It has articles and recordings. |

Thats a great suggestion, thanks!
It all seems a bit heavy for discussion with barely able English speakers though. Does anyone know of some really light stuff?
(The reason I ask for lighter is just that the only stuff on major news sites is economical, religious and North Korea. I don't want to preach about those things to other teachers!! ) |

The Korea Times website has Dear Abby columns with the more difficult/colloquial words translated underneath. I don't plan around them but I a few on hand for backup when my teachers classes stall (which they often do because I'm a total amateur at it). I try to dig through them for the least possibly controversial letters (i.e., should I meet my online boyfriend, whatever). I wish they had Miss Manners or something similar, that discussion could be interesting. |

I'd suggest using any of the True Stories. You can download the ppts under Resources - Stories on EFL classroom or get them with audio on the Listening page. Print the powerpoint using [File - print preview - print] and you have a story handout. They are interesting but not a high level at all....
