Can someone post pictures from the festival? I'm just wondering if it's worth driving 4-6 hours to see something that might be comparable to what's near Yeoido 여의도.

It is good. The Naval Academy is also open so you can tour that as well. No pics but I recommend it.

The trees are older and from the Japanese occupation. A bit better and different than the National Assembly`s.

I went there yesterday with a couple of friends, and what should have been a 45 minute trip from Tongyeong turned into a 2.5 hour journey. There was some cool stuff to see, but overall, I wouldn't say it was worth it for all the traveling we did. Just my input!

On a similar note, can anybody suggest a prime cherry blossom spot for me to visit next weekend? I live in Seoul and apparently full bloom is still 2-3 weeks away here...

Thanks! Very Happy

I went once. Once was barely worth it, but I don't think I'd make a day of it again. You have to wait a long time for a bus as you can't walk to the area by the naval base. There's the usual Korean noise pollution. It wasn't a bad day but not the greatest outing I've had in Korea, either.

I would say...

if you live in a city nearby (say Changwon, Busan, etc.) then yes.
if not, no.
