Can someone post pictures from the festival? I'm just wondering if it's worth driving 4-6 hours to see something that might be comparable to what's near Yeoido 여의도. |

It is good. The Naval Academy is also open so you can tour that as well. No pics but I recommend it. |

The trees are older and from the Japanese occupation. A bit better and different than the National Assembly`s. |

I went there yesterday with a couple of friends, and what should have been a 45 minute trip from Tongyeong turned into a 2.5 hour journey. There was some cool stuff to see, but overall, I wouldn't say it was worth it for all the traveling we did. Just my input! |

On a similar note, can anybody suggest a prime cherry blossom spot for me to visit next weekend? I live in Seoul and apparently full bloom is still 2-3 weeks away here...
Thanks! |

I went once. Once was barely worth it, but I don't think I'd make a day of it again. You have to wait a long time for a bus as you can't walk to the area by the naval base. There's the usual Korean noise pollution. It wasn't a bad day but not the greatest outing I've had in Korea, either. |

I would say...
if you live in a city nearby (say Changwon, Busan, etc.) then yes.
if not, no. |
