Is it possible to get a public school job in Seoul or in the rest of Korea in October or November? I ask because that is the time I am able to come.

Apparently. I was wondering the same thing myself and it seems like the concensus is that PSs hire year-round.

It'll be hard and you -definitely- won't get to choose your school - the only reason schools/SMOE/EPIK would be hiring in November is if someone quits, so it's really about filling the empty spaces rather than giving you free choice of location.

That said, if you're interested in Gangwon-do, their EPIK program has a mid-December intake that you might want to apply for when the time comes.

NOT always true that jobs starting Oct/Nov are to replace runners.

My job ends late Sept, as do many others I know.

I got to choose my school through direct recruiter ad. (Major advantage of late starts IMO).

(I am in Gyeonggi though. Seoul may be more popular).

Well I wouldn't be overly worried about what school I'd teach at. I was just hoping to end up in Seoul because I figured it'd be the easiest city for me to get accustomed to.

I'm leaving in late September, so I'm sure it's a possibility. The later in the year though, the more difficult it will become for you.
