i got a korean check for a new job in the UK and they gave it to me that day. i waited maybe half an hour.
i just said i needed a criminal record check, but there were no fingerprints involved....
also i had to go to the main police station for the area not just a little police "box" as they called it |

I did the same thing here. Main police station. Took a Korean friend. Older fellow that they wouldn't dismiss quickly. 30 minutes. Ended up going out drinking with the detectives after their shift. |

It was in Korean, but with coaching, they typed in English in one of the boxes something like, "Applicant has no arrest record." |

Korean National Police Check used to be available for free at the office found directly across from Seoul Station on the second or third floor and involved no waiting time and it was free. Caveat: that was abour four years ago. |

What is the official name of this document that you refer to? There's a big difference between "having been arrested" and "having been arrested, officially charged with a crime, tried in a court of law, and convicted".

What does this check check? That you've never been convicted of a crime in Korea? |
