Can I get hand sanitizer in Korea? If so, what's it called/where can I get it? |

you can get it at red door in itaewon, but it's 8000 won for half that amount on g-market. just get a big purell and buy a travel sized shampoo bottle to fill. |

there's actually an option on g-market to just do a bank transfer (so you don't have to give out your credit card number). i'd also recommend getting it sent to your school instead of your apartment, at least you know someone speaks english there and you'll get the package. |

Most pharmacies sell it, but not the brand Purell. No need to order online or travel to Itaewon. |

yeah, my office is 4 floors away from the nearest sink and soap. This is a must-purchase for me, too.
I've seen this kind of hand sanitizer at pharmacies. |

What's it called in Korean? I went to a pharmacy and asked for it in English, but no dice. |

I was surprised to see several varieties of hand sanitizer in my local market. I had heard it was difficult to find, but there is was just as plain as day.
This is Daegu and this is the typical mom and pops market, (not like a convenient store but more like a small grocery store)
If they were selling it there, I cant imagine it would be difficult to find unless you prefer a particular brand. |

Missha (sp?) also carries hand sanitizer in most of their stores. |

1. Go to Wikipedia.
2. Print out the article on isopropynol.
3. Bring it to the pharmacist.
He will not have it, but he'll ask you what it's for. Tell him 'disinfectant' and he'll give you a bottle of USP 60% Ethanol for 1000. Put it in a pump bottle.
The only thing Purell has on it is that it smells different and has a thickening agent. |
