I have an international remittance account with KEB - I transfer money from my normal account to my remittance account and the money gets automatically transferred to my home bank account in Canada. The entire exchange usually costs about 18-23 dollars, with about 8 being charged by KEB and the other 10-15 by my home bank, depending on how much I send.
I do all of the transfers online and only needed to go into the branch once to set up the account at the beginning.
If you are interested in doing this, be sure to get your bank information including transit number, as well as your home bank's address. You'll also need your ARC and your home address here in Korea. There's more information on the KEB website under their features for expats. |
