Urgh. The hits just keep on coming. So, I've been hearing grumblings for weeks from my handler and the district office. They keep saying there are 'discrepencies' between my Visa and my actual job.

Then my handler tells me, 'not to worry, almost all the E-2 visas this year are the same as yours, they wont do anything.'

And now it hits the fan. It's not deportation or anything yet, but I hear that every E-2 that came in after June of last year needs to go back to Immi to get their visas re-issued with some minor changes in language.

It's just more government BS, and its going to cost 30,000 krw and be a pointless trip downtown! I wouldnt do it at all, except my handler said it might affect my pay (the computer wont recognize my type of Visa since it would be wrong and will not pay me the right amount).

Just a heads up to everyone else out there. There is a VISA RECALL! Have you ever heard of such a thing?

ARRRRRRRGHGH!!!!!!!

This is actually AWESOME news for me. I needed to cancel the visa I got in July and wasn't sure if they would allow me. Now if it doesn't show up in the system, I can get my new one without a problem. I left in December without notice and been applying for a new one~

Why would you even consider paying when it was Immi who screwed up?... and a trip downtown (on the employer's time) sounds like a nice break from school. Wink

The school says it's a personal issue so I have to go on my own time! After my last class at 2:30 I'll have to run to catch a subway to try and get all the way to immi to wait in one of those horrible 200 person waiting lists! Crying or Very sad

Of course they're waiting till the last minute to tell us. My handler said the new system will take effect 'soon' which could mean 1 day or 1 month (?!?) by Korean standards! I'm just afraid of suddenly being stuck in the country with an 'improper' visa!!!!!!!

Everyone on a recent E-2 needs to get to immi immediately!!!!!!

With a bit of luck everyone will wait until Friday... I hate the lines at immi...

I just returned from Immi. They said they ran out of forms, so everyone who comes in now has to go home to their respective countries.
