Here's another question that has popped into my head. Unlike America (and other Western countries) and unlike the uni system here, does having an interview at a hagwan almost guarantee you have a job there? I'm not resting on my laurels, but from my own experience it seems always that the last question is "When can you start?" As in, "You breathe, you're American, OK. I'm sold."
So, is the key to landing a hagwan job here showing up for the interview? Do you really have to screw things up for the hagwan to say no? Smile

In my experience, unless it's a uni job, if you're having an interview with a hogwan, 9 times out of 10, you have it and they will say things, like, 'when can you start?'

Unless, you are non-North American, and your accent doesn't pass for what they are particularly looking for, then you'll get a 'we'll call you'.

Being a white blonde guy from the USA who resembles the boy on the left, I almost always get offered the job.

Some of the larger hagwons in Seoul do conduct interviews and an interview does not necessarily guarantee a job.

It's me. Smile

And I like your avatar. The kid in the back looks like he's probably in his 20s by now and playing football for some University. Looks like he'd be a big boy when he grows up.
