I Have been threatened twice now about being either locked out or removed from my apartment. What are my rights in the matter? I read all of the crush your hogwan director post, didnt find much use of it besides the numbers which I will be calling tomorrow. Any other tips? |

He can't legally kick you out until an exit order or 30-days notice (resignation on your part; or, termination on his part) takes effect. If he shows up and threatens to do so, call the cops.
Change the lock immediately (if you haven't already do so)... so he can't get in while you're not there. |

Why is he threatening you? How far are you in your contract. Don't speak directly to him and make sure he sends you email so you can document these "hagwon owner outbursts". He might be having a hard time at the hagwon and want to get rid of you. So, he is probably looking for any way to remove you without it coming back on him.
One thing I did when my first hagwon owner didn't want to get me an apartment was to copy the contract out again and highlight in red 5 sensitive areas I felt we could improve (meaning things in the contract we agreed to that wasn't being met by him).
I did this twice to make sure everything was clear. It's possible the hagwon owner doesn't realize your rights, and if you do the easy thing by showing them to him, he might change his mind about threatening to kick you out. |
