I've installed English xp on a Korean laptop, and I was wondering if anyone knew how to make the little button to the right of the spacebar switch languages. I already have the Korean IME installed, I just want that one-touch button to do the job instead of Left-Alt shift or whatever... |

Found the answer after some searchign and playing around with the registry. I'll put the solution here for anyone who has the same problem:
Run regedit. If you don't know what you're doing, I advise you not to play around.
navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt\Parameters
Add the following registry values:
LayerDriver KOR REG_SZ kbd101a.dll
OverrideKeyboardIdentifier REG_SZ PCAT_101AKEY
OverrideKeyboardSubtype REG_DWORD 3
OverrideKeyboardType REG_DWORD 8
It works, but the language bar must be set to Korean anyhow. This just switches between Hangeul and English letters. |
