I told the PE teachers at my school that I'd show them how to drink boilermakers. We did soju bombs one night and I want to return the favor with US whiskey.

I understand that imported whiskey is obscenely expensive but I was hoping to get some without being taxed. What's the process like, and, are there any good shops in Busan?

Mailed? From where? The costs and regulations alone make the best options:

Buy from Costco
Buy from a regular store, it's not THAT expensive
Buy something cheaper

The Casino in Busan has a duty free shop in it, i'm not sure if you'll be allowed to use it though because of your VISA (ie just for tourists.)

You need to take your passport with you.

Not that expensive as in... 50,000 won? I have no idea what a bottle costs here.

Prices around town for a 700ml bottle of Jack ranges from 35,000 to 50,000 KRW.

Tax. Give me a break. The stores are gouging the customers because the only people who drink western booze can afford it and are willing to pay for it.

I think it's around 40000 at Costco. It's a bit more at Homeplus and E-mart, but I would get it wherevers it's closest to me rather than making a special trip or having it sent.

Your joking right?? Its cheaper here than it is from my country, and 25,000 won for a 700ml bottle, 50,000 for 1.25 (i think or 1.15) is NOT expensive.

Could you please tell everyone where you're getting it for 25,000? The prices quoted by everyone else are 40-50,000.

I've seen the 500ml bottles for that much, never the 700ml ones. The Jim Beam goes for around 25,000, but it's not as good as Jack imho.
