Quick question for any of those that can help. Does the U.S. version of FIFA 09 play on a Koren XBOX 360 or is it region locked? I hate trying to play Korean games because my grasp on the language is minimal. Thanks for the help. |

You have a Korean Xbox, yeah? Then no problem. Just buy the local version of the game (NTSC J) and it automatically changes the language to English (assuming your console language setting is English).
I have it, Korean version, Korean Xbox, all English. It's an awesome game, especially with the new downloadable content - a whole new game mode. It's keeping me very busy... |

Thanks for the reply. The only game I have is Call of Duty 4 and it only display Korean so I just figured that FIFA would too. Anyways that's good to hear, I will pick that gem up this weekend, can't wait. |

Hum, that's weird...which version of COD 4 did you get? You have to watch out for the special Koreanized versions of some games. I have the NTSC J version of COD 4 and the speech and menus are both in English. Sometimes, they release an NTSC K version, which is only Korean.
Keep an eye out on the back of the boxes. Most will tell you the language settings - a little picture of a headset is the voices, and a little picture of a printer is the text. Check they both say 영어.
Also, if you're in Yongsan, just ask the guys "영어 있어요?" I've never had them lie to me about any games, though sometimes they just don't know. I've got about 15 games or something, most of them bought from Yongsan, and none are Korean. A couple of games, like Halo 3 and Eternal Sonata, I had to buy from play.com to get the English language version. In Korea, sometimes they only release the Korean language version.
Come to think about it...I maybe bought COD 4 from play.com...but I'm rambling now. Good luck finding Fifa - should be a little cheaper by now. |
