Someone can chime in on exactly the subway stop for the plant market in Seoul. I think it's Chong-no 5-ga or roundabouts.
For me, its the pot that makes it expensive, and the soil, and the little tray that catches water underneath, and the white stones to prevent splashing mud. You can get nice corner filling, stand alone plants for 5,000w at any mom and pop nursery or the above mentioned market. It's all the other stuff that adds to the cost.
Also, you could think about buying small plants and watch them change into large plants. A bunch of 2,000w plants together and suddenly you have a big group. Philodendrons work well, though they usually hang down rather than grow up.
