Does anyone have any idea what the costs are to have a deviated septum surgically corrected (septoplasty) in Korea? Would a procedure like this be covered by the national insurance plan?
Thanks! |

I would like to know this as well. Give the foreigner clinic at Asan medical center a call (02)3010-5001. I visited there for something unrelated and asked about an overnight sleep test and a few other things and the staff were extremely helpful. The doctor there speaks perfect English. I am quite sure they can steer you in the right direction. Definitely post your findings.
Not that this helps much, but if you went to Bangkok and paid cash at Bumrumgrad hospital it would be about $900US. |

This isn't exactly the same, but I had sleep apnea awhile back and had surgery to fix the problem. All in all, after National Health Plan kicked (they paid 600k) in, it cost me 1.2 million. I have private health insurance, so they paid 1.1 million. |

I thought sleep apnea was incurable? You just had to see a sleep doctor and use one of those sleep breathing machines. |

There are other methods to try and fix it. You can have UPP or use the breathing machines. I opted for the surgery over wearing the Darth Vader mask for the rest of my life. So far, the wife says it seems like the apnea has gone away and I feel much better after sleeping.
Guess time will tell, though, if the cure is permanent or temporary. |
