I am looking to purchase a Playstation 3, preferably a U.S. version if I can find one. I would like to take the system back to the States with me eventually, so need something than can play blu-ray over there. I'm flexible on HD size and color.

Just PM me with the specs and your asking price. I am currently living in Bundang.

I want to warn you, you will not be able to opt into any movie download services offered in the USA, I believe. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that... I think the machines are somehow hardwired to allow only TV/movie download services from and in their country of origin? Game demos are different, however.

My Japanese PS3 was unable to do the Korean services when I owned it here.

Just FYI, I had a US PS3 break and bought a Korean one. It plays any Blu-ray movie or game regardless of region, but American DVDs and ps2 games are locked out. (Not that it matters for PS2 games anymore--my broken PS3 was one of the original, backward-compatible ones.)

Right. That's why I'd prefer to grab a U.S. ps3 if possible. Dvd isn't a necessity for me in Seoul, just would like to game a bit while here. But when I eventually move back to the States and get my plasma back, I'd like to have the option of playing dvds over there.

I suppose I can just buy the Korean version and sell it when I move, but if anyone did bring one from the U.S. and is looking to sell it, that would definitely be preferable.

DVD's are so 2000. You can play any blue ray!
Seriously though my bro bought one here and it was much cheaper, plus it can play all the important stuff. Ps2 games are quickly being replaced by better PS3 counterparts and you can rent like anything on blueray in NA (and it looks noticeably better.
