My middle school students really enjoyed High School Musical. I don't think I've seen them so excited about something school-related EVER. After the movie was finished I made question sheets and did exercises related to the themes in the movie, and it really got them talking.

They are begging me for the sequel, so I will probably show that to them as well and come up with some activities/discussions afterwards. Seriously, if you can get your hands on these, you are golden for the entire month or longer.

They're great for time-killing week after finals, but if you're using them during the regular term I think there's something pretty flawed in your approach.
