I tried using the search tool but it came up with something like 1000 results on this question and none of the 10 or so I read answered it and well, I dont fee like reading 1000 threads. So Ill just ask it...

I know I have to send sealed transcripts when applying for my E2. Now, I plan on staying in Korea at least 3 years, maybe more. Do I have to send them sealed transcripts EVERYTIME (IE once every year) that I apply to have my E2 renewed? Im just trying to prepare better and need to know if I should just order a bunch of transcripts but I would rather just get the amount I need and be done with it.

So in short, do I have to give Immi sealed transcripts everytime I apply/reapply for my E2?

Sorry if this has been answered a bunch of times already and thanks in advance.

Extras are always good.

You probably don't need more than the initial set if you don't switch jobs.

Will you switch jobs? Probably.

Will you need extras? Probably.

Better safe than sorry.

Yeah switching jobs is something I plan on doing. I wanna start off in Gwangju (have a friend there) but want to teach in many places throughout the country (hence my long stay) Good advice. Ill just go ahead and get like 10 sealed transcripts. Heres to hoping they dont get destroyed in K-Land.

Yes, that is what I did. I have a whole stack of them in the drawer.

Lucky B*stards... I tried to pick up extras, but my school changed their policy and won't give them to students anymore. If I need more, I have to wait for them to be mailed to whoever is hiring me.

I was under the impression that transcripts could be no older than six month old to be accepted, did this change?

I think you are confusing it with the CBC.

Transcripts are technically supposed to be within 1 year of stamp/seal.

but....I've since received 2 new E2's using 2007 transcripts....so they don't seem to care I guess.

I haven't seen any indication of this on the immigration website. Where are you finding this information?

Both times I applied for my E2 I was warned (1 recruiter, 1 hagwon) that immigration may not accept transcripts that are dated over 1 year. So I ordered fresh ones just in case but never had to use them....still back home.

But yah, I've never bothered to look it up or talk to immi about it.

Interesting. Out of curiosity, I opened one of my transcripts. There is no date on them. They state the dates of my courses, but they certainly don't say when I got the transcript itself.

Yes, possible....depends on institution. I have 2 different sets of transcripts. One school stamps date on envelope and states date of issue on transcript while the other school didn't stamp envelope but did put date of issue on transcript.
