Hi there,

Can anyone tell me if they know if it's possible to get contracts for less than 1 year?? Have you ever known anyone who's had a 6 months contract?

Any information at all is really appreciated - i really need to know soon so I can plan my year

Thanks,
Diana

Ive heard both yes and no in response to this question. I have no idea about the TaLK program, but Im 99% sure you need to sign on for a 1 year contract for the regular program. Im sure there are illegal ways to go about it (going over and teaching privates on a tourist visa, though it is not recommended and is again illegal) but as far as I know, you need to do the full year.

A friend of my son's just went back on a six-month contract. He has experience though. I don't know the particulars but I'll guess and say that he's not getting a return flight and severance pay unless he extends. Or maybe he's a $hit-hot negotiator and is?
