Does anybody know the exact location of this place, please? I've been offered a position at a school in this area, but I'd like to know exactly where it is. It's advertised as 'Sinae-dong Joonglang-gu, Seoul' and on the 'Joonghwa stations line #1'. Tried loads of different combinations in google, but I'm finding nothing.
I haven't e-mailed the foreign teachers currently at the school yet (still waiting for the recruiter to get them), but I just wanted to get an idea of where it is!
Cheers! |

My old neighborhood............
It should be spelled, Sinnae-dong, Jungnang-gu.........that's the approved spelling.
Jungnang-gu is in North-East Seoul. The subway station for Sinnae-dong is called Bonghwasan. The very last easterly station of the brown line. Line 6.
Good big Homeplus there. Sangbong Costco is 5 minutes taxi ride. |

Sounds promising. Did you have a decent experience there then? What is there to do around that area in particular? Also, how quick is it to get into central Seoul from Bonghwasan? I'll mention the school incase you've heard of it, Kang's Institute. It's a longshot but you may have heard about it on the pesky proverbial grapevine.

Haha....you've charmed me with 'here are the mods'.....
I actually lived in Jungwha-dong.....(whoever did your English spellings was on crack......"Joongwha"???)
But I did venture around the corner to Sinnae-dong often. Usually to go to Homeplus, which is owned by Tesco. Although you'll find Costco in Jungwha-dong is better for western foods...
There is absolutely no night life in Sinnae-dong. Zero. It's a family residential neighborhood. Plenty of good restaurants though.
If you want to hang out in Itaewon then, luckily, Bonghwasan is on the same line. Takes about 30 mins to get there. No transfers.
Kang's is a chain as far as I know. I almost worked for them once. Standard hagwon job. Try to get a public school job where the principal might give you all summer and winter off. Hagwons work you 50 weeks per year. Shyte.
You could do worse than a year in Kang's in Sinnae-dong. You could also do better though. Avoid hagwons. Try to get into public school.
P.S. Any Smiths fan can bother me with as many questions as they like by PM. |
