Tex-Mex food comes to Bundang! Billy's Tex-Mex opened in Dec. and it's pretty darned good (been there three times so far....) Billy speaks great English, having lived in various places in the US for several years. He and his wife are super friendly and cook up a great meal. It's a little on the spendy side, but worth it to get your fix. (The chili chicken noodle soup is outstanding, I might add...)
Near Sunae station (Lotte Dept.) Take exit 2 or 4, walk straight through the courtyard until you get to the 2nd small road, about 2 minutes. Turn left, walk past the VW dealer, and look up, ahead, and to your right. You should see a red and yellow sign across the street on the 2nd floor. Muey bueno! |

Chicken noodle soup (with or without chili) is not my kind of Tex-Mex, what else do they have? |

Sorry, but I'm under the impression that a Korean simply can't make decent Mexican or TexMex food. If I don't make it myself, or know that the person making it is verifiably good at making TexMex, it ain't gonna fly.
But...tell me. Do they use refried beans? |

Yeah, what else is on the menu?? I could go for some of that action if the food is good. Plus that really awesome yogwan is in Bundang...whirlpool tub for 2, sauna, etc. and the room is bigger than my apartment. lol. Sounds like a good night to me.
Billy's Tex-Mex and Cyberfantastic hotel. Any other reasons to go to Bundang?

Whaddya want, an itemized menu? From what I remember, there are burritos, bbq or chili-lime chicken, chili & rice bowl (yeah, yeah, that's not "authentic Tex-Mex" you purists can go ahead and make your own if that's what you want), chili nachos, and more. Granted, the menu is somewhat limited, but he's gradually expanding the menu as he goes. Everything I've tried (all of the above and more) were great, and everytime I've gone, there has been something new added to the menu - sorry, no margaritas or Corona (yet...) He does listen to suggestions, so if enough people ask for something he'll probably add it. |

Authentic.
Tex-Mex.
Two words that should never go in the same sentence. |

Sorry Eunoia,
Didn't expect you to post a whole menu! Just never heard Tex-Mex and Chicken Noodle Soup in the same paragraph before. I grew up in an area bordering the Mexican state of Sonora, and my first real girl friend was Delia Ochoa - who really knew how to cook - yee hawwwww.
Anyway, Sonoran food is quite close to TexMex - if not better!
So, thank you Eunoia for posting - we all need pitch in (as you did) with reviews of good places - and places with favorite foods. God knows the variety of chow here is not great - and usually expensive when it exists.
And, we shouldn't p*ss on the poster too much if we disagree with their evaluation - just add our own in polite terms. |
