Does anyone know or have experience with the following. If a teacher, working at a hagwon, has a contract up until May 31st, 2009, extends his contract for one more year and also gets a re-entry permit. Can this teacher go home for 3 months (The hagwon has no problem with this) and then enter on the same working visa?
Someone told me that if you leave the country for an extended period of time, you need to re-apply for a visa, and go through all the paper work hassles that come with it.
I have spoken to immigration about this, and received a positive response. However, my assistant has also spoken to immigration, and he claims they told him that the teacher needs to apply all over again.
I would like to hear if anyone has first hand experience with this kind of situation. |

A good number of university teachers do something like this.
I renew my visa in June, leave the country, come back at the end of August -- no problems. |

absolutely every time anyone - even if they are K, mind you, calls Kimmi and asks them a q about can a foreigner do this or that - the answer is ALWAYS negative and somewhere in there they have to go back to their home country.
if you have a multiple entry visa, should be no problem, like someone else said.
I also knew someone who went home to have surgery and stayed for 2 months, came back on the same visa.
good luck. you'll be fine. |
