ANyone know if KOrean immigration keeps your apostilled degree copy?
I came here a month ago and decided to use an apostille degree since Korean immigration lost my degree on year and the next year they damaged it.
My boss now says I have to give her my original degree so she can take it to the board of education. I told her to use the apostilled copy, but she says she said immigration kept it, and the Board of Education need the original anyway.
I'm really peeved off just now! I spent a lot of money on this already and now I will need to fork out more just to get my degree here (which I don't want to do) just to keep the BOard of Education happy. I've already been issued with a visa and alien card, why do those muppets need my degree too.
Annoying. |

Immigration DOES keep the appostilled copy. They return originals.
The BOE does NOT need the original. A photocopy will suffice. |

Thanks for your reply ttompatz.
That will make my life much easier.
I will give my director a photocopy. I hope I will have no more problems with this.
Cheers. |

Do not hand over your original degree. She only wants it so that she can hold it hostage should you decide that you want to leave. Many hagwon owners falsely believe that our originals cannot be replaced...mine being one of them...and if I really decided that I had to get out of here, I'd leave it behind without a thought. |
