| I'm taking my first vacation abroad from Korea and I need to buy a flight. The problem is I have only a Korean ATM card. I have no debit or credit card from back home. Is there a way purchase the flight online from the airline using my existing bank account (KB)? What are my options? |

| Yes, if you use sites such as http://www.whypaymore.co.kr you can wire transfer the money from your ATM. |

Or, you get a quote from any travel agency, then ask them to send you a map on how to get there, go to the bank machine, take out the cash and get the heck over there before the price jumps up. I did that my first year.
And when you are back home, get yourself a credit card. |

Or have a family member back home pay for it and transfer them the money. I wouldn't use a travel agent. In my opinion, unless you have a friend in the travel business, they're going to gouge you.
I got a quote from a travel agent for a simple ticket purchase, and it was twice as much as what I payed by shopping myself.
Specifically, they were asking for 2 million won for a round trip plane ticket from the USA. I found tickets myself for 750 dollars, which, at the exchange rate, came out to about 1.1 million won. |
