Hi all,
I am wondering what is business casual work dress in Korea? I will be at an English Village/ Global Village in the Pusan/Busan area.
Thank you |

| Does that mean suits are optional also? Do I need suits? Do I need "sport jackets" (you know the jacket type thing that comes with a suit)? |

No, no suits are necessary. Well, it might be good to bring one, or a nice sports coat. There are some formal occassions, like graduations and weddings.
For daily wear, pants and a shirt are usually fine. Some places allow jeans, but not all. Koreans do prefer that you look 'presentable', and you can't go wrong trying to look your best, but don't think you need to dress up all the time. It's common for them to wear a jacket and tie (except for summer) but a shirt and tie are fine with no jacket. Summertime, ties stay in the closet.
Rule of thumb: Dress like you are going on a movie date with a new person. Look good but don't overdo it. |
