Some shoe information for anyone doing some longer distances. Let me preface this by saying this is a testimonial, not an ad - I'm a teacher, and don't work for this Korean company.
I have, however, had the opportunity to meet the company founder a number of times. His name is BJ, he is an accomplished ultramarathoner, is very helpful and generous with his time, and knows his footwear. I'm pretty sure that ddeubel from this forum, himself an amazingly accomplished ultrarunner, would attest to this.
Some years ago BJ developed faab shoes. If you've done a marathon in Korea, there's a decent chance you've seen him selling his shoes at the race expo.
The shoes offer a wide footbed and plenty of support. I'm on my third pair now. This newest model (537) is light but sturdy, and every bit as good as the Nike Pegasus and Asics Gel-Kayanos I wore for years. Plus, 65000 won a pair can't be beat.
If you want any more info, want to talk ultramarathon training or long (and slow!) runs in Korea, send me a pm. |

BJ's a good friend of mine, met him the first week I got off the plane here (had a great run and drank lots of post training maekoli).
Go to http://runkorea.ning.com and hit the link on the left. Or message him from within the site.
I'd recommend the shoes to those runners who don't need a lot of "control or stability". But even beyond running, they are comfortable to walk in for 65,000 door to door (2,500 delivery fee on top).
What I don't like and I hope he changes, is more support around the lacing, as is, you really have to lace them up well to get a nice fit.
