Hi
Is there a job forum board / good agency (one that doesnt send your CV to a school without your permission first) where you can job search to different criteria, eg :
Age of pupils - only college + adults
Length of contract - 6 months max
Thats all i am bothered about - am i asking too much???
I just cant find this stuff. I am aware that there are lots more opportunities for jobs and therefore more adverts. But they all look the same.
In thailand/cambodia/vietnam it only takes a few mins research to find out what schools or universities are right for me. Would like to come to Korea next.
Thanks |

I like the complaint of too many jobs to narrow it down. What a good complaint.
How many other job markets present us this problem today? LOL
You narrow down by what city or province you want to be in and then get recruiters to make offers off the criteria you gave them such as hagwon or public school and what age group. Typically contracts are for 1 year, but some people stay less than a year. I understand some of you experienced teachers know other and better ways to get jobs, but we're talking newbie 1st timer job search. I set my job up from home through a recruiter I found on Daves who works with EPIK for some of the provinces. |

i think the fact you are searching for jobs teaching only adults narrows your search down quite a bit actually.
i'm looking to teach public school or adult hagwon, and i'm not having any trouble finding ads that fit my search. |

Yes. But so many recruiters only say "hey we have jobs send us your resume". I just ignore those recruiters because if they had anything good, they would say exactly what it was. OP seems to be complaining that there are so many ads, but nothing suitable. It's a larger market, and therefore more competitive.
Sorry OP it's going to take more than a couple minutes to find something decent. |

Does anyone know the answer to this :
Do recruiters send your CV to schools willy nilly - or - do they ask you first if the school is right for you, before sending them your CV.
I dont like to think that loads of schools could end up with my CV without my permission. I could imaging applying myself to a job and the school saying saying.......oh, we already have your CV on file.
yeah, i guess ive just got a grudge against the 'caring' (bloodsucking) recruitment agencies - from when i worked in other lines of work. |
