Anybody else dry their clothes on the floor?

If your floor is clean it works great!

I still despise not having a clothes dryer, detest it. I have looked for one, found one, and left it at that. They are available but too expensive and large to deal with because of the dynamic situation that can exist with jobs here. If I feel comfortable with my current situation I'll get one.

But I have resorted this time to using the floor, it works just fine, but is annoying. Gotta clean the floor just right, don't have that much space anyhow for a load of clothes, etc.

The dryer is the key. My clothes just fall apart and are stretched out and so on becuase they don't have the quick drying tumble of the dryer. Oh well ....

But it does work well doesn't it.

I find that my clothes last longer and shrink less with hang drying. I just have one of those collapsable dryer racks- on fine days I hang outside, otherwise I have to give up a bit of apartment space for a while. No problem, but I do have to iron a bit more.

Compared to drying on the floor?

(I'll thank my mom for you.)

I find that my clothes get all wrinkled, stretched, and never get soft with hang drying.

I do like the drying with the floor thing--especially for bedclothes. It works great.

And if you find that your clothes are stretching out, you can go to a laundromat (drycleaner) that does washing and drying and treat yourself to a washed and dried load of laundry. I did it once or twice when it was really rainy and things just wouldn't dry.

It's amazing the things you can adapt to. I found really creative ways to hang my clothes in Korea. And have been known to dry underwear with a hair dryer if the situation calls for it!

Putting wet clothes on the floor? Yes, I do that. That's how I clean the floor. Surprised Really. I dry clothes on a chair, table, bed, T.V., or desk.

Good idea though. Maybe my first load could be sacrificed to clear the way for the second.

This is an especially pleasant method if you are wearing them. . .
